Experience
I am a University of Memphis graduate. I have a Creative Writing background and experience teaching English to students to whom English is not their native language. I have always found great success in that sort of teaching. I believe that a tutor's main responsibility is to answer questions and give feedback to students regarding the material they are working through. It is crucial not only to point out when a student makes a mistake but also to explain why they made that error and what they can do to correct it in the future. I aim with every session to leave the student with additional skills that will help them complete work efficiently and effectively on their own, not just during our time together. One of my greatest strengths is my patience, which I believe helps me teach all different types of students who learn in all different ways. I am comfortable tutoring subjects all across the English spectrum, from Reading to Essay Writing to Phonics. I can also teach German and help students as they prepare for standardized exams like the ACT. In my free time, I enjoy writing and reading, as well as staying active by biking and rock climbing.
