I have a bachelor's in International Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I also minored in French. I lived overseas in both Switzerland and France. I have many years of tutoring under my belt, and have taught students ranging in age from elementary school through adult. I am passionate about languages. I am available to tutor students in French, from level 1 to 4. My methods often use real-world scenarios to help put the information into a context my students can understand. I often use media such as movies, music, and books to help students learn to think in the new language, rather than relying on rote memorization. I can also help with ESL/ELL and general English, as I have a rich background in teaching English to non-native speakers. I find pleasure in making my native language attainable for anyone interested in learning it. Additionally, I can help students who are preparing to take standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT. I am a gentle and earnest teacher, and am happy to share my love of languages with my students.In my spare time, I enjoy reading, gardening, cooking, and jogging.
