Hello! I appreciate that you've taken the chance to read this. For about 10 years I have been a tutor to students that were 10-18 years old from New York and Baltimore, all the way down to Memphis. Right now I serve as the Food Justice Program Coordinator for a large-sized non-profit organization in NYC. In the afterschool setting the program provides, I help students in middle school and high school to do service learning projects. I also encourage them to practice critical thinking.I love to assist young people so that they can truly evolve as students. Seeing someone's "a-ha!" moment is a truly fulfilling experience for me; I work hard to make that happen with humor, creativity, and patience. To me, it is important that a tutor prepare for and know about the ways in which each student learns, as everyone learns and interacts with others in a different way. To tutor is to forge connections and encourage growing minds, and I believe my tutoring is a testament to that. When I am free, I like to write poetry, read, practice yoga, hike, and explore new locations. I also enjoy taking Coursera classes online--what a good place for information!
